Evans cooled Defender takes first place

Published: 09/07/2013

Phill Bayliss and his Evans cooled Defender Td5 produced the goods this weekend to take first place in Lincolnshire Land Rover Club’s Comp Safari at Stainby.

Land Rover specialist Phill runs The Old Forge Garage, Leadenham with his father Chris and has been involved in off-road racing all of his life. Phill is attracting a lot of interest within the 4x4 race scene for his pioneering work, demonstrated by the performance levels he is getting from his Td5 powered Defender.

Evans’ Power Cool 180 has become a huge hit with Phill and his team, with a boiling point of 180 it eliminates overheating, boil-over and after-boil.

Unlike water, Evans Waterless Coolants contain no oxygen or minerals and so eliminates corrosion and with a boiling point in excess of 180 degrees prevents hot spots caused by pockets of steam. Evans also allows the cooling system to run at a lower pressure which in turn reduces stress on components.

Overall it’s a much more efficient conductor of heat than water, allowing for a more efficient and smooth-running engine.
